To improve throwing skills you need access to a wheel and lots of clay. We offer throwing practice sessions on Monday evenings and Friday mornings alongside our beginner’s class to those who just want to practice their throwing on the wheel.

Throwing Practice Sessions

Looking to improve your throwing skills?  Potters need dedicated time on the wheel without the structure of a class. These relaxed, supervised sessions are all about giving you the space to practise what you already know, build confidence, and enjoy the rhythm of making.

Who’s it for?
These sessions are designed for people who already have the basics under their belts. That includes:

Anyone who’s completed one of our 5-week beginner’s throwing classes

Other experienced throwers who are confident with:

Centering

Coning

Pulling up

Wiring off

Friday mornings

Each session is 2 hours, giving you time to wedge, throw, and clean down before you leave. (We leave the last 20 minutes of each session for cleaning up—everyone pitches in to keep the studio lovely!)

£250.00  per person for each block of five sessions. Price includes all clay and up to five pots glazed and fired.

Special Events

We run special events and one-off workshops throughout the year on all aspects of ceramics, often with visiting experts from around the UK.  We advertise all these events via the website and our mailing list.
