SUMMARY:Monday evening Pottery Throwing Class
DESCRIPTION:Five week throwing classes on  Monday evening\n\n\n\n\nSessions are two hours duration and limited to eight people. \nThrowing classes are for beginners wanting to learn the basics of throwing a pot on the wheel\, and full tuition is provided by our expert class leaders. \nWe also have returners to the class who can practice their skills\, although supervised\, returners will largely throw independently in their sessions. \n£250.00  per person\n\n\n\n\nThe beginner’s class includes all clay and full tuition over five weeks.  Any pots that attendees wish to keep will be subject to a £24 glaze and firing charge. \nReturners who are attending to practice their throwing may have up to five pots glazed and fired in their class fee. What looks like a simple technique quickly reveals layers of delicate texture and pattern\, capturing the quiet details of the natural world. \nIn this relaxed two-hour mini workshop\, we’ll explore how to use foliage to create striking designs pressed directly into clay slabs. You’ll discover how different plants produce very different effects\, and how layering leaves and textures can build up beautifully detailed surfaces. \nUsing simple formers\, you’ll shape your slab into a small dish while learning how to compose your foliage patterns so that the finished piece feels balanced and intentional. We’ll guide you through the whole process — from rolling out the clay\, to pressing and arranging your foliage\, to adding slip decoration that highlights the textures and brings the patterns to life. \nBy the end of the session you’ll have created your own unique slab-built dish\, ready to be fired and glazed by us. No two pieces are ever the same\, and the results are often surprisingly intricate and elegant. \nThis workshop is ideal for anyone who already makes with clay and is comfortable working independently. \nFiring and glazing of your finished piece is included in the workshop price. \nBook Now
