Summer Silk Scarf Painting with Tarma Richardson

During this three and a half hour summer themed silk painting workshop you will create a stunning 55cm square silk scarf using Ponge silk and iron fixed silk paints. Finished scarves can be worn or framed as an art piece. All materials will be provided. A wide range of designs will be available to choose from. These include favourites such as  summer florals, birds, butterflies and dragonflies, as well as turtles, seahorses, parrots, koi fish, Indian themed designs, and even an owl or two. No prior knowledge or artistic ability is required as designs can be traced using metallic gutta in gold, bronze, silver and pearl white. Techniques such as wet in wet, wet on dry and the use of rock salt will be introduced, as well as colour mixing. Bugle and seed beads will be available to embellish finished silks.
